We currently have 12 surf and skate discipleship groups happening weekly in our area. Our biggest group, pictured above, is located at Venture Church in Encinitas, where over 100 high school students come to hear about Jesus and eat pizza. Truthfully though, we see the Lord moving the most through our smaller groups. This can be anything from a one-on-one to a group of 10, who gather to share about their lives and struggles, read scripture, and prayerfully apply it to their lives. These groups lead by our staff and by our rad volunteers, who sacrifice their time to be obedient in their calling. This is our bread and butter, and it is a pleasure to be immersed in the community in this way. We had such a blast this year. Over 3 weeks, we had the privilege of ministering to 60 kids. They showed up every morning eager to learn about Jesus from their awesome leaders, with whom they dashed into the water and learned how to surf after their morning bible studies. Very excited to do the same next year! He is fearless, shameless, hilarious, determined, and most of all, a God send! Jonathan has been involved in FCA Surf San Diego since the very beginning. He has gone from student, to volunteer, to intern, and now to staff. He has currently been serving as part time staff for one year! During this time, he's been a huge asset to the ministry through discipling his peers, and some younger than him, serving at camps and mission trips, and being an extension of Christs love. In the next year he is aiming to be on staff full time! We partnered with Christian Surfers to host around 60 local surfers for both men's and women's divisions. Every year, it seems like good surfers crawl out of the woodwork and put on quite the show. Our goal with this event is to serve the community and bring awareness to CS and FCA ministry opportunities. So far a success! Recently, we took our Monday morning group camping in Santa Barbara.
